Category 1 customizations add additional columns from source
systems that have prepackaged adapters and load the data into existing Oracle
Business Analytics Warehouse tables.
Category 1
customizations involve extracting additionalcolumns from source systems for
which prepackaged adapters are included (for example, Oracle E-Business Suite)
and loading the data into existing Oracle Business Analytics Warehousetables.
For Category 1
customizations, data can also come from nonpackaged sources, but this assumes
that the sources have already been mapped with a Universaladapter and only need
to be extended to capture additionalcolumns.
In the
example in the slide, you would use the DESCRIPTIONcolumn in the HZ_LOCATIONS
table in the source system to capture data related to locations. You would then
run a load plan to load the data into a custom column, X_DESCRIPTION, in the
W_GEO_DSdimensionstaging table in the data warehouse, and ultimatelyinto a
custom column, X_DESCRIPTION, in the W_GEO_Ddimension table in the data
warehouse.
